Eric

Eric AdlerHi! I’m Eric, SSM’s CEO and founder.
My life reads like a movie script – flying helicopters from ships in both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, working with Iraqis to host a successful parliamentary election, solving problems with the brightest minds in the world at McKinsey & Co, and even interning at Google and NASA! I am also a bit of a nerd, having loved studying control systems engineering at the US Naval Academy and finance/economics at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. I’m also an animal lover and adopted a 3-month-old rescue, Stella. I also fostered 9 other pups for my neighborhood animal rescue organization in the early 2010s.
At some point, I pivoted (for the 5th or 6th time) and discovered a love for hospitality, interior design, and real estate. This leg of my journey began in 2016 while I was working as a management consultant for McKinsey while also flying Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk helicopters for my Navy Reserve unit based in Jacksonville, FL. I realized that I was only living in my home in Chicago for 5-10 days per month due to traveling extensively for work and pleasure. Because I disliked my home sitting vacant while I was out of town, I decided to rent my apartment out as a short-term rental. Then it began.
My guests’ love of my home particularly delighted me via thoughtful notes and glowing 5-star reviews. After doing this for a year and a half, I had an opportunity to try this in an additional market – Jacksonville, FL. I initially wanted to hire a property manager to help me, but after several unsuccessful attempts, I elected to start my own company (Silver Street Management) to manage our properties. To this day, our guests’ happiness is my team’s primary focus – whether it is helping a family needing a place to stay while their house is being renovated or hosting a solo traveler exploring a new city for the first time, we look forward to you experiencing our love of hosting in all of our homes.
